I started off tracing out the shapes of the different parts needed to make the bear...that alone took me about like 45 mins or so...seriously is it me or is it plain difficult?
Ta dah ~~~~ how it looked
Then according to the super super brief instruction paper...i'm suppose to cut those shapes out! Think i spent like 3/8 of the whole time trying to figure out what i am suppose to do...while doing i kept telling myself "damn! izzit me or the instructions? stupid bear stupid bear"
And i never knew it was THAT hard to cut the soft furry cloth....it felt like my thumb was falling off....
Frustrated and exhausted....pieces cut off eventually!
There !!!! a few hours ok....don't play play!
I was so gan chiong, i never took any pictures until here...where i have finish sewing the hands, legs, ears and head. (parts are not filled with cotton yet). The thing is i have to like sew everything inside out, so that after "flipping" it back with the furry side on the outside, nobody can see all the threads and all....
Anywayz, i bought this from spotlight plus some orange thick thread!!! super cool...they are like sew on tags! i thought it will be pretty cool to "zheng" the bear! hahaha
And let the "zhenging" begins...oh that's the bear's stomach btw....
I used a sewing chalk to draw (inverted) what i wanted to sew "AJ" in the middle of the front of the bear's stomach haha!
Done!!! i took about 2.5 hours to finish this 2 letters man!!!! almost died...cause the cloth is just too thick and the thread (suppose to be already quite thick) can't be seen, so i did layers after layers after layers!!
And the back of the bear is done too...i re-did this step for 2 times...cause it's just not straight!! i have no idea why, cause when i pin it to the cloth i ensured that it is straight! strange...maybe it's just my fat hands...
All the parts done, but not filled with cotton yet...and ya, the bear's face...not done! Talking bout the bear's face...seriously, cause the bear comes with plastic eyes, and because i don't have this driller thing, i couldn't drill it through the thick head....and so, i had to SEW the eyes and the nose and the mouth!!!! LAYERS AFTER LAYERS AGAIN...it was hell...
I spent about half an hour decided on how the eye should look like..."o" or "x" and yea, as you can see from the picture, i decided on the "n" shape eyes!!! and it took so much time because after sewing both i realise one is bigger than the other, so i have to alter and sew more at the smaller eyes....
My little nano kept me company all along....
The "AJ Bear" all done and "Stitched with Love" hahaha drum rollsSSS please....
LOL! done....ok it looks pretty weird, but it's the thoughts that count, and it's the first bear i have ever sewn! so ya hahaha.....
It's gift exchange time!!! wahahahahaa....
