The Kite Runner

Just finished watching The Kite Runner, and really i haven't watch such a movie in a really long time. The movie an emotional (friendship, family, redemption) film that is really worth watching on the whole! Makes me wanna go fly kite...

*spoiler alert*

The part where this guy Assef (a Taliban Executioner) throws stones at the lady all wrapped up....is damn scary can! i thought he's gonna shoot her!!!

Found out from Wikipedia that the execution part may be inspired from a true execution in March 1997 where a married woman, from Laghman Province was caught attempting to flee from the district with another man. The Islamic tribunal found her guilty of adultery and condemned both her and her lover to death by stoning.

And i think Hassan is a super loyal friend...even after all that Amir did and did not do to/for him, he still regards him as his good friend! people like him may be close to extinction.

There's this part in the movie Amir and Hassan said to each other "Inshallah" before the tournament, and i recalled learning the word from Dr Ameen Talib during his talk about doing business in the Middle East. Inshallah means...In god's will or leaving it to fate. It was nice hearing the word being used in the movie! haha

My 20th Birthday!

I'm 20!!!! No more teen!!!!

And i had 3 really great Bday celebrations!!!!

I went out with TOUS to celebrate my birthday in advance on the 25 Jun! They gave me a treat at Sushi Tei and bought me this really really nice dress :) THANKS MANZ...

Then we went to our favourite dessert store in far east!

Ate the usual...yang zhi gan lu and this tao suan with chestnut thingy!

Then we went to our favourite toilet and begin taking LOADS of pictures!!

Then on the actual day, andy came over and cooked for moi! As requested: Hainan pork chop (cooked by a hainanese -- andy) with black pepper mushroom sauce, onion rings and andy added potato salad to the menu!

Andy also prepared red bean cake!!! moi favourite!!!! home made ok...don't play play!

Then we played jenga....

Then later in the night, when everyone's home, there was a cake cutting session! i didn't know there was a cake...i thought the red bean cake was the cake! hahahaa anywayz, it was my favourite cake!!! PANDAN KAYA CAKE from bengawan!

Thanks andy! for the cake! ... he knew that i like pandan kaya, but he didn't know from where, so he secretly asked my mum and my mum secretly told him; And because previously my mum gave me some $50 worth of bengawan solo vouchers, andy told me that she said to him 'ai ya i gave janis those vouchers, should have given them to you' [=_=]" Don't worry mummy, i'll put the vouchers to good use!
