Always Be My Baby
I was walking around with mu tou and man tou that day and i heard my all time favourite FAVOURITE song "Always Be My Baby " ! But it was not MC's voice ... then i googled and found out that it's this David Cook guy from American Idol! Think he is also the winner for that season!!! He's got good taste, and he got to rehearse with MC! damn lucky can~~
When i was younger i told myself that if i were to become a singer one day, i would sing this song in my world tour! Haiz...now this David guy took my song! hahaha jk jk, it's not like i'm gonna become a singer....
That's the video of that guy singing the song! not bad i must say :)
Everyone who has never heard of the song....MUST HEAR IT NOW! it was such a hit years ago, it still is now...at least to me! and it's written by MC herself!!! (it's my new blog song, enjoy!)

StarHub Dinner
Went for this StarHub Distributors dinner with Andy on 16th May, that's why we were not able to make it for Joshua's birthday celebration that night. Sure hope he had a great time :) Happy 20th birthday Josh! So back to the dinner...it was held at Orchid Country Club!
So we waited for the shuttle bus service at yishun to come...
Here's a picture of the entrance of the club taken from inside the bus!
Andy's family used to come to this club quite often, so he showed me around the place and introduced me to this great cafe with super delicious food. Someday we'll go back to the club and try their "today's special" or something.
This is where the dinner was held...the Grand Ballroom.
The theme for the night was "kampong", so at the cocktail session people were playing all sorts of old-fashioned games...like carom
Those balloons you blow from a little straw....five stones
And the fish spa area!!!
See!! haha it was pretty happening really. I took this picture when everyone decided to slowly proceed into the dinner area so that's why there were less people. Oh and because the dress code stated on the invitation card was "kampong style" some of the more enthu people did came in kampong style clothing. I was glad we did not, cause most of the enthusiast are like employees of StarHub.
The whole place was made more "kampong lighting" by this....
There were all these long time no see items lying around for everyone to admire...or reminisce about the good old days.
This should be a typical kitchen area i think?
Moi and the old kitchen
Andy and the old kitchen
Oh and we drank loads of red wine that night! The people asked us if we were at a legal drinking age! hahahaha does that mean that we look young? (please say yes!)
Anyway...Andy's suppose to the sniffing the wine hahaha!
Then we decided to just get in and wait for dinner to begin! The main door reads "xing he chun" aka StarHub Village.
Ta dah~~~
This is our table...super close to the stage and right beside the VIP table :)
Two hungry people...
Oh check this out! this is like a name card size picture. It was taken free as we entered the ballroom and we were each given one!
Dinner is about to start :D
And famous ah nam guy and his gang were hosts for the night. Personally we felt that they didn't quite fit into the environment, cause they were singing hokkien songs and all, and most of the malay and indian guest did not understand what's happening. (Don't think the Caucasian StarHub president understood too...but i might just be wrong) The only reason i could think of for hiring ah nam and gang was that most of the distributors are uncles or aunties...who understand hokkien...but what about the rest? hmm...
This was our first dish...love the octopus! the others were ok...fish cake...too fishy!
Second dish...shark's fin!!!! And because there was like only 5 of us at our table everyone could have extra servings!!! Oh...see that guy there in the picture...lets just call him "uncle x" for this post.
I had 2 bowls of it :)
We were given an entry ticket each which is also our lucky draw ticket! and i won the first round...my number 8147!
Ta dah~~ a free phone...Andy can use it for NS. We were super happy until we realised that we were not entitled to further draws with more attractive prizes like PSP slim, MacBook, Sony Bravia tv, Osim massager, iTouch, iPod nano.....etc etc -_-"
Uncle x who got ticket number 8148...(one number after me) won the PSP slim...damn it!!!! and uncle x is also quite irritating throughout the dinner, cause he eats damn fast...and damn alot despite his small build. Is like we were enjoying the performance for like a mere 8 seconds, and the next moment we saw him eating his like 2nd or 3rd serving already...!!!
Anyway, the distributor with the highest sales came from our table...and because they sold a lot, they also won a lot through the 'stick and win' lucky draw! they won a tv, an iTouch, some vouchers, an iPod nano, a PSP and a trophy!!!!
Next up...roast chicken! uncle x ate all the good parts!
My piece of succulent meat!!!
Then we had vegetables and mushrooms!!! super nice...oh there's fish before this...forgot to take!
Next up...cereal prawns!!!!! before the dish was out, i was telling Andy "eh how come the ballroom smells of cereal prawn huh?" hahahaha...
We both enjoyed this dish! and cause i had such a hard time trying to peel the shell with chopsticks and spoon, i just ate the ones Andy peeled hahahaha...
He is quite pro at peeling prawns...he uses his mouth!!! as you can see haha jk jk. He really uses his mouth, but it's not like it seems in the picture. I dunno how he does it, but it's fast and clean!
Then we had E fu noodles....this is super filling!
The left over E fu noodles...think everyone was kinda full ... including uncle x. Oh !!! did i tell you that every time the aunty coming to clear the plates and all comes, she will scoop all the remaining and put them on Andy's plate! hahahahaa
For desert we had orh ni!!!! MY FAVOURITE!!!!!
It's not the authentic one though...it's pretty watery and no pumpkin. I had 2 bowls of that despite how full i thought i was after the E fu noodles! I guess all teochew people just loves orh ni too much....hahaha
We were so bored on our way back so we decided to take pictures!
Hahaha...someone tell me why the lighting changed for this picture?
Maybe it wasn't the lighting...it was just....something else~~~
