We Are One!

Time flies...it feels like it was just yesterday that Andy and i can't stop smiling dreamily over the fact that we are together! It wasn't easy, we argued (actually we still do), i pinch, i hit and ya, i think you can roughly imagine~~~but we will always be alright in the end! So i'm proud to say that we celebrated our first birthday on 1st June! (stupid blogger didn't let me post pictures, so that's why this post is delayed)

This is the first ever picture we took together! It was taken way before we got together hahaha!

Anywayz, we went to Shimbashi Soba! We were looking forward to eating the lunch set we ate on our first time there (set lunch includes a rice bowl and a chilled soba, can't remember if there are anything else) but sadly, they don't serve lunch set on weekends, so in the end we ate the paragon set!

Andy waiting for the set to arrive

Me too...super hungry

This is the paragon set! It comes with chilled and warm soba! Oh ya, the soba at the restaurant are hand made and very fresh! cause from outside the shop you can see this glass showroom thingy with a very pro Japanese chef inside preparing the soba! I took a picture of him once last time, forgot if i blogged about that...ya. Anyone interested can go to paragon and have a look!

Close up pic of the chilled soba!

Chilled soba gone!

Close up pic of the warm soba!

Warm soba gone!

The super nice plate of tempura! The mushroom melts in your mouth! However the prawn is not as tasty as the one from Wasabi Tei!

Gone too! hahaha

We Love Shimbashi Soba! For people who eat as much as us! It's super worth it!

After eating we walked around and went home looking forward to eating my mum's curry. But we decided to go to the market to eat the famous porridge stall before the market closes for half a year for renovation works. However the stall is closed already!!!! so we end up eating this also famous bak kut teh! (have never tried it before even though it's just beside the porridge stall - always long queue) It is actually the first time i'm eating bak kut teh outside!

This is traditionally teochew style bak kut teh! Soup is very pepperish and tasty, meat is tender and tasty too!

See! it's steaming hot! This bowl of thing, only Andy and my mum ate....i'm not brave enough for it! The soup is a lot spicier though!

Their all really hot...as you can see! I love this!!! the auntie says its "suan cai" (sour vegetables haha) cause we asked for salted vegetables, then she said "bor, wang wu sng cai, bor qiam cai" (translated: no, we have 'soured' vegetables, not salted vegetables)

Andy!!! Oh and we ordered sugarcane juice too!

Mummy! They both had their sugarcane with lemon...

Both of them hahaha! yea, anywayz after eating we went to buy the super nice kueh tu tu...those really traditional big ones! super duper nice can! and ya...while waiting we went to TS and bought the liao zai series hahaha! Oh, and i think the bak kut teh is super nice! i'll give it 10 thumbs up! It was a super great day!

And to end this post...

Happy First Year To Us! (especially for my favourite bian tou gua)
