"We Are Girls From RGPS!"

Hey people, i was doing some newspaper cutting and i came across this article!

My primary school wins award for excellence! along with njc and tjc! quite cool. Reading the article brought back a lot of fun memories too!

If you read the article, it says that "when some (students) complained about the glaring sunlight, affected classes were given $100 each to put curtains up". That is true! We have this suggestion box thingy...at least in my time it's call that, and we were encouraged to pen down whatever we feel can be improved and drop it in the box. Our principal (the old principal) herself will look into those issues. And small issues like the curtain one will be 'settled' almost immediately. Very efficient.

And about the cooking classes, yes we have cooking classes! my new principal (Ms Tan) implemented it when i was in p6. I remember making my very own pizza bread! haha

This is another article found in Today. That is my new principal. She's the one who changed our sharp metal badge to the round ones and now the cloth ones! I personally like the metal badge more...looks cooler! i dunno why some girls will scratch their face (scratched by the badge) while changing out and in of the pinafores...and it's always the same few -_-" thanks to them we cannot wear those beautiful badges anymore. And nope...during my time, we didn't have to wear name tags.

I actually went to my school's website and found this!!!! My school song! hahaha! and if you are interested you can listen to it here.

I dunno if every school will sing the courtesy song, but every monday we must sing this courtesy song:

Courtesy Coorperation~

Carefulness Consideration ~~

good behaviour (through the school / to rule the school) <-- not sure ~~

that will be our golden rule!

And it will really drive our principal mad when some girls go and clap in between! haha

Right er jie? da jie? and stef? haha so funny come to think of it!

Once in like primary 1 or 2 my classmates and i were sitting together (like the pic above) for art lessons...and i had my drawing paper on my lap...and i was happily cutting shapes out of the drawing paper just to realise that besides cutting my drawing paper, i also cut my pinafore!!!! yes, there were holes in my pinafore...my mum had to stitch the holes up.

And my belt is sewed to my pinafore...because a couple of times i forgot to take my belt after ballet classes, so my mum sewed it there - stuck there permanently! it's pretty sad especially when my friends take out their belts and starts folding beautiful roses with their belt...quite lame i know, but back then, that was the IN thing.

Anywayz...shall upload some of my own primary school picture to show you guys how lame i look back then ... and yes, er jie your pictures too! LOL! woo hoo...and i will also tell you all the stupid things we did on the school bus :)

Stay tuned...

Ps. on top of all the many things i am suppose to blog about haha

Andy In Tekong!

It's been 5 days since Andy's recruitment (16 Sep 08)! and i am super bored alone going to work, no sms, no phone calls, come home, no sms, no phone calls, eat, no sms, no phone calls, watch tv, no sms, no phone calls, sleep, no sms, no phone calls....from Andy!!! well at least no long phone calls and no regular smses like always!

But i must say there was an increase in call frequency from Andy, except much shorter talk time. haha Andy calls every single time he gets admin time, even if it's for like 5 seconds! the shortest i got was "hello...oh i gtg already bye bye, miss you" ahahaha.

Andy making our way to Pasir Ris...see the woman beside him...very 'buai zi dong' cause later Andy's dad sat on her other side...she never offered to exchange seats. Anyway i think she got the 'buai zi dong' face...

Andy and auntie and uncle waiting for the shuttle bus to fetch us to the ferry terminal :)

Us in the "Penguin Tekong" ferry...something like that haha!

Finally there...all the parents with their sons!

Welcome to Pulau Tekong! I told Andy "not bad what...like resort" I imagined Tekong to be like the kampong style kind...wooden house and loads of coconut trees...occasional snakes etc etc. As you can see, it's super new and clean and HOT!!! (the heat there is different from main land Singapore, it bites) but luckily, still quite breezy...

Once we are there, all recruits were seperated from parents / visitors, we went for a tour around the whole school :) went to visit the bunks, admin room, tents, field items? (dunno the correct name), and everything they'll be collecting...yup. During the whole time, Andy...no where to be found.

We were allowed to take pictures with the soldier model? This is the first shot, pretty dark...so we decided to take another picture. Andy's mum asked the guy "can you turn the other way, cause it's too bright" hahahaha the guy said ok. And cause there's 2 of them altogether, auntie went "together la, come...take together" so soldier model 2 joined us hahaha!

Ta dah~~~second shot :) think we were the only 2 in our batch who took picture with them.

See this guy, he is NOT Andy's PL COMD hahaha...took wrong!!!! Andy's in PL 1 man!!! haha. Took picture of the list, but think i won't upload it, cause it's got all the ic number and all...but eddy from MA (back in nyp) is in the same PL and same bunk as Andy! what a small world.

The last stop of the tour was the auditorium, where we finally saw Andy...already seated with his fellow comrades...all stiff and stern. When they were taking the oath, i felt this sudden and unknown pressure and stress...it's pretty scary actually. Especially the last sentence about protecting the country "with my life".

At that point, i wondered if my 5 golden rules for Andy was wrong. Anyways, this is what i told Andy:

Me: 5 golden rules for you
Andy: ?
Me: Number 1, take care of yourself
Number 2, safety first
Number 3, self before others
Number 4, others before country
Number 5, run for your life
Andy: how can like this?
Me: can...!

We get to eat a meal together, this is my super huge portion!

The whole set comes with a fruit and soup...yummy :)

Andy's dad ate the vegetarian set! looks good too :)

Took some pictures together!

Happy...but sad.

Andy: wa cannot finish, very full
Me: huh, then eat the chicken la
Andy: ok
Speakers: Dear parents, after your meal, you may proceed to the ferry terminal while your sons will have to return ... (something like this). Please bid your sons farewell NOW. Enlistees, please report to the parade square (something like this).
Andy: !
Me: ! so fast! you haven't eat finish leh!
Andy: must go already

Then some parents started crying and all...wa damn dramatic can!

And after that, we were on our way out already. Saw these group of people marching. It's good to know that Andy's in good hands and under good care. Gone are the days where soldiers eat garbage food, live in unhygienic environment and train unrealistically and dangerously to death. Now, our soldiers practice progressive training and have realistic and attainable targets set for them in order to reach best form in the most comfortable time frame. They are also given time to adapt to the place, and to recover from any homesickness! haha

I sure hope, Andy will cope well with everything that he is faced with and of course have loads of fun in the process. The last i heard was that his head is a little sun burnt haha (cause mostly because of the botak-ness) haha!

I'll leave it up to him whether or not to follow the 5 golden rules hahahaha....

Another 7 days till Andy's book out date! *smiles*

BTW, i'm working already hahaa as a mini marketing executive at K*m*c* motors hahaha! shall tell you guys more next time! that's my desk...it's 100 times messier now!

To Andy: see i told you i can see you on my desk! haha
