Mummy's Birthday Celebration

Last Saturday was my mum's birthday! (i know...one week late) And we decided to celebrate it together with my xiao yi and pei pei, cause all three of them are October babies :)

We met at the shop (oh and that day was an official "public holiday" for the shop) before going down to the restaurant! Love how the calendar is accidentally in the picture!

Finally arriving at the restaurant...here's a very candid picture of my botak wong

The very authentic Ju Shin Jung Korean Restaurant!

Here's where we are seated, 2 rooms joined into 1

We saw these little "coins" on the table, and everyone was curios about what it is, some say it's sugar, some say it's fire starter...and i told andy "maybe it's towel, you know those kind you add water then it'll expand.." and turns out that they really are towels!! *waves* i know i know, you can call me JanTheGenius / JanTheGreat.

Other than weird looking coin towels, there were also tea on the table la

Then came our first side dish...everyone had one set of those. The thing on the left that looks like seaweed soup...is not seaweed soup! It's damn sour! and that plate of onions...don't think anyone ate any...most of us used it as a plate to throw fish bones, chicken fats...unwanted stuff basically, i think you get it...after the seaweed thing, no one dared to try the onions.

Andy waiting happily for the food to arrive...he lost so much weight and is super tan. Why can't it be me? i also want to be tan (i am janis TAN, but ironically not tan at all), i also want to lose weight!

If andy keep losing some weight at the current rate...one day i'm gonna be heavier than andy!!! btw, i wanna take up yoga lessons...anybody got any lobang?

And the side dishes kept coming...this is some kimchi vegetable i think...i didn't ever eat that, too far away from me on the other side of the table.

Tofu!! never eat this also, although it's right infront. You'll know why later...

These fish ball lookalikes...never eat also. But Andy ate them though, he said they taste just like those flat ones below.

I ate these! hahaha which are ok only...sweet and chewy...

Andy...eating the flat thing

I ate these too! fried mushrooms! nice :) i love mushrooms...

By the time all the side dishes are here, this is how our side of the table looks like.

Everyone still not very in the eating mood yet...as you can see, stupid er jie is still snapping around.

Then came the more exciting dishes!!! The seafood hotpot...with crabs, prawns, scallops, octopuses, radishes, mussels! SUPER DUPER NICE AND SHIOK!

Grilled fish! VERY NICE also....despite the many fish bones! and i'm not even a fish person!

Mushrooms! Getting ready to be eaten....muahahaha!

Almost ready.............................

DONE....can you see the mushroom juice in the middle! Fwoah!!!! NICE MAN i tell you.

Hot and spicy tofu soup!!!!!

Ginseng chicken soup!!!!

Last but not least and my favourite dish of the night!!!! Korean pancake!!!!!!! it's so nice...i could've eaten one whole plate by myself.

See the difference! everyone excited and eating!
